BERLIN ACTING WORKSHOP 2024
WITH ROBERT CASTLE & ALEJANDRA OROZCO
INTERNATIONAL THEATRE NEW YORK
Robert
Castle,
artistic
director
of
IT
New
York,
and
Alejandra
Orozco,
co-
artistic
director
of
IT
New
York,
will
be
back
in
Berlin
this
August
2024.
During
2
weeks
Robert
Castle,
a
seasoned
actor/director
and
long-time
coach,
and
Alejandra
Orozco,
an
award-winning
stage
actress,
will
run
one
of
their
internationally
successful
‘Method
Acting’
workshops.
The
uniqueness of their method is an evolution of ‘Method Acting‘.
More
than
just
the
creation
of
the
character,
the
aim
became
the
creation
of
the
soul
of
the
character
through
a
series
of
new
exercises,
including
‘Imagined
Experience
and
Image
Work’.
The
results
have
been
transformational.
Already
competent
Method
actors
have
enthusiastically
endorsed this evolution of the ‘Method Technique’.
International
Theatre
New
York
had
some
great
workshops
worldwide
for
over
a
decade,
training
actors
to
become
working
actors,
working
actors
to
become
prominent
actors,
and
prominent
actors
to
reach
the
heights
of their art and profession…
7A
daily
6-8
hours
training
of
relaxation,
sense
memory
exercises,
and
scene/monologue
work
will
develop
your
artistic
skills
over
a
long
period
of time. The workshop will be held in English.
Robert
Castle
has
trained
many
prominent
actors,
and
has
worked
as
an
actor
and
director
with
such
modern
luminaries
as
Sean
Penn,
Michelle
Pfeiffer,
Jeff
Goldblum,
George
Segal,
Jane
Fonda,
Angie
Dickenson,
and
many others.
All
levels,
from
beginner
to
award-winning
highly
experienced
film
and
stage
actors,
are
welcome
in
a
non-competitive
yet
demanding
environment.
Each
actor
will
be
working
on
a
scene
and
a
monologue,
always
from
great
writers.
We
provide
the
scripts,
and
pair
the
actor
with
a
scene
partner
before
the
workshop
starts.
The
actors
have
the
opportunity
of
getting
on
stage
several
times
with
their
scenes
during
the
course
of
the
workshop.
The
scenes
are
worked
on
experientially.
For
this
reason,
text
analysis
is
not
done
as
a
sitting-down
academic
exercise,
but
rather
as
an
ongoing
discovery
of
the
life
of
the
character
and
the
world of the play or film.
This
experience
is
also
very
enriching
for
dancers,
singers,
writers,
directors
and
other
creatives
of
the
theatre
and
film
industry.
There
is
the
possibility
of
passive
participation (viewing) as well.
If you know any other creative people in your social circle
who might be interested in this workshop, please refer
them to this website.
